One Mighty Reunion Events announces an end to pool parties for 2010 Gay Day weekend (a JustCircuit Exclusive)
It was learned by JustCircuit today that One Mighty Reunion Events, the presenter for the legendary Reunion Pool Parties during Gay Day weekend in Orlando, will announce tomorrow that it will take a 2010 hiatus. Guests with reservations at the Buena Vista Palace Resort Hotel and Spa, host hotel for Reunion, will be given 100% refunds if they request a refund or they will be given the option to take advantage of room rates now as low as $99.00 during the Gay Day weekend, which is an even lower rate than that which had been offered by Reunion Events. Pool party tickets never went on sale for the weekend.

Sources close to the organization site "a series of setbacks and broken promises" over the past year that helped them to conclude that 2010 was not a good year to return to the weekend and to the full capacity which Reunion has dominated the pool party scene. Despite reportedly having a sizeable number of hotel bookings at the Buena Vista Palace for Reunion, the typical sold-out status was not a guarantee, as other event host hotels at competitive events are struggling to fill much smaller numbers of room reservations in their own room blocks. Also sited as a reason for the hiatus is continued "speculation, pessimism and outright hatred by some in our own community " towards the organization. The actions by bloggers associated with other Gay Day weekend events continue to damage the success of the overall weekend.

Despite tomorrow's official announcement with a change in it's 2010 plans, One Mighty Reunion Events did not announce a full withdrawal from the Gay Day weekend market and will leave open the door for future planned events. Promoter Johnny Chisholm will continue his own production of Memorial Weekend Pensacola, only a week prior to this year's Gay Day weekend.
