How To: Join and Manage Forums by Email

We’ve been working very hard on a great new feature that we believe will bring new life to the Forums section. This new feature is the JustCircuit ListServ and it gives our users the ability to subscribe to our forums and receive updates via email. It also allows you to respond or sent new messages to the ListServ via email and have those messages reflected in our forums.

This next installment in our “HOW TO” series describes how to signup for this free new service, how to use it and how to control when messages are delivered.

Signing up for the JustCircuit ListServ is extremely easy. If you’re not already a registered user of JustCircuit.com you will need to register to take part in our forums. Simply click the Register link (pictured below) just under the top navigation bar and follow the registration wizard.

Registered users must be logged onto the website. Once you’re logged on navigate to the Forums section by selecting the Forums link on the top navigation bar (pictured below).

Next select the General Discussion message forum.

From the General Discussion forum view select the checkbox next to “Click to subscribe to this forum.”

Once you select the checkbox you will notice that it changes to “You are subscribed to this forum. Click to unsubscribe.”. Congratulations you’ve just subscribed to the forum and will start to receive updates via email. The default delivery setting to receive messages as soon as they are posted to the site. You can modify how frequently receive emails by changing your email delivery options (below).

Users no longer interested in receiving emails can simply uncheck the box and we will no longer send messages.

Changing Email Delivery Options
Once you’ve subscribed to receive forum updates via email you may modify your email delivery options. Modifying your email subscription type allows to you to change if and when emails are delivered, you can select from 4 options: Disabled, Instant, Daily Digest and Weekly Digest.

•    Disabled will disable email updates. This is the same as unsubscribing.
•    Instant will send messages immediately after they are posted to the site.
•    Daily Digest will deliver a single message daily containing all new messages.
•    Weekly Digest will deliver a single weekly message containing all new updates.

To change Email deliver options navigate to the Forums section of JustCircuit.com then select My Profile just under the top navigation menu.

From the profile window select the My Preferences tab then click the Subscription Type dropdown to configure your email delivery setting. Once you have made your configuration change click the Save button.

Users who wish to stop receiving messages from the JustCircuit ListServ can set their Subscription Type to Disabled or they can click the “You are subscribed to this forum. Click to unsubscribe.” checkbox from the General Discussion forum view.

Using the ListServ
Once you’ve subscribed to the JustCircuit ListServ using it is extremely easy. Users can interact with our forums in several ways. You can login to JustCircuit.com to read, post and reply to messages directly on our website or you can read, post and reply via email.

Posting and replying to messages are the same as any other message. Simply compose email from any email client. On the to line type JC-ListServ (at) JustCircuit.com, title, type your message and send. Please note the email address listed has been modified to keep SPAM spiders from copying it. Remove extra spaces and replace (at) with @.

Replying to threads is just as simple. Click the Reply button, type your response remove any previous email thread or history and click send. When replying to messages there are 2 important rules, which should be followed:

• When replying to messages ALWAYS remove all thread history (previous message contents) prior to sending.
• NEVER modify the message subject. Modifying the message subject will cause the forums to create a new message thread rather then replying an exiting thread.

Simple Posting Guidelines
JustCircuit is an information portal and as such we would like to keep the flow of information free and unencumbered. In order to help us do we have ask that you follow these simple guidelines when posting:

•    Keep in mind that this is a public forum.
•    Unfounded lies and slander will not be tolerated.
•    Keep your discussions civil.
•    Event and Self-promotion is fine, but do not SPAM the forum. Post your upcoming event information once.

Occasional updates are permitted, however if we see you sending updates weekly and/or daily we will take action.
Users who can’t abide by these rules will be blocked from posting publically.

Southern Decadence 2010 had the highest attendance since before Hurricane Katrina

Southern Decandence 2010 in New Orleans is now part of history and JustCircuit was part of the action all weekend long. Pictures are now available for viewing in JustCircuit.com's picture gallery. JustCircuit was presenting sponsor for Oz Nightclub's Southern Decadence weekend, which saw the highest attendance in a decade. New Orleans opened its arms to over 125,000 attendees and rolled out the red carpet for Decadence celebrations. The epicenter for events was the intersection of the world famous Bourbon Street and St. Anne, where stages presented the talents of Deborah Cox, Jeannie Tracey and others and saw bible-thumping Christian protesters with offensive signs and life-size crosses in verbal combat with peace-loving Decadence attendees. One pro-Decadence protester with a megaphone brought smiles to faces as his repetitive "BLAH, BLAH-BLAH, BLAH, BLAH" overwhelmed the Christian protestors, who asked passers-by "Are you a FAG?" and "You will go to hell" in attempts to disrupt the fun. The Christian protesters were outnumbered 100-to-1 and quickly disappeared to regroup in a nearby church on Dauphine Street. Not to be outdone, and learning from the best, the protesters were back with their own bullhorn to get their message across to the thousands of people on the street.

The protesters are seen regularly at Mardi Gras and Halloween events on Bourbon Street. During Mardi Gras, the popular "Cross Toss" takes place, where individuals on balconies along Bourbon Street attempt to toss Mardi Gras beads onto the tops of the life-sized crosses carried by the Christian protesters.

Highlights of the weekend were Saturday night and Sunday night performances by DJs Roland Belmares and Phil B, who kept Oz Nightclub dancing until sunrise. Both DJs will return for Halloween events at OZ in October.

Over 125,000 Revelers Expected for 39th Southern Decadence in New Orleans

Official Southern Decadence XXXIX Celebration of Gay Life, Music & Culture, is expected to bring in over 125,000 revelers for this year's weekend long celebration. Numerous hotels in the French Quarter are already booked solid, and event downloads at SouthernDecadence.COM are topping 25,000 weekly.

Southern Decadence began on Wednesday, September 1 and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 6. In 2009, the celebration brought in over 100,000 revelers with a projected economic impact of over $150 million to the local economy in New Orleans. The weekend ranks in the top 5 celebrations held in the city. The 2010 celebration will be led by Southern Decadence Grand Marshals (SDGMs) XXXVI Toby Lefort and Julien Artressia. This year's theme is Leather & Feathers; colors are powder blue, black and purple; song is "Tu Es Foutu" You Promised Me! by InGrid, English/French version; and charity is NO/AIDS Task Force.

The mayor's office, city council, police department, sanitation department, streets department and local businesses have worked together to ensure tha visitors and locals will enjoy a safe Southern Decadence. 1st Knights of Decadence Welcome Parade Friday, Sept. 3 Southern Decadence Grand Marshal Toby Lefort has organized the first Knights of Decadence Welcome Parade on Friday, September 3 at 7:30pm. The parade is slated to have fourteen floats and two jazz bands. The parade starts on Elysian Fields @ Royal, down Royal to Esplanade, left on Esplanade to Decatur, right on Decatur to St. Louis, right on St. Louis to Bourbon, right on Bourbon ending at Dumaine at Cafe Lafitte in Exile.

SDGM Drag Show Kicks Off on Friday, Sept. 3

The Official Southern Decadence Grand Marshals Drag Show kicks off the weekend at the Home of Southern Decadence, Tubby's Golden Lantern, 1239 Royal St. on Friday, September 3. Beginning at 10pm sharp, MCs Michael Brandon and Rikki Redd kick off the affair featuring SDGMs XXXVI Toby Lefort and Julien Artressia with former SDGMs Electra City, Tittie Toulouse, Regina Adams and many others.

7th Bourbon Street Extravaganza Sept. 4

Napoleon's Itch, 734 Bourbon St., host the 7th Bourbon Street Extravaganza on Saturday, September 4 at 5pm. The free live concert is at the corner of Bourbon and St. Ann Streets. This year's event promises to be bigger than ever according to promoter Chuck Robinson bringing the talents of Deborah Cox, Jeanie Tracy, Erika Jayne with 12 dancers, Kimberley Locke and Damian Faul plus many surprises, to the concert stage.

2010 Southern Decadence Parade Route 36th Southern Decadence Parade Sunday, Sept. 5

The 36th annual Southern Decadence Parade celebrating Southern Decadence 39 begins at Tubby's Golden Lantern, 1239 Royal at Barracks in the French Quarter on Sunday, September 5. Tens of thousands of people will line the route to watch the thousands of parade participants go by.

This year from 11am till 1:50pm you can enjoy the Pre-Parade Show on the outdoor stage with Guest MCs Sadie Sheperd, Divas R Us, Coca, Miss Tubby's Golden Lantern Vanessa Carmicheal and more. Southern Decadence Grand Marshals (SDGM) XXXVI Toby Lefort and Julien Artressia will be introduced and toasted by Southern Decadence Susan Lucci's Rip and Marsha Naquin-Delain at 2pm. At this point the grand marshals will address the crowd and then kick off the parade. Once the parade kicks off, the grand marshals will stop at each bar on the route for 10 to 15 minutes.

Since the parade has grown so much, the City of New Orleans has required a parade permit for the past twelve years. The Southern Decadence Grand Marshals have changed the route slightly this year. The parade leaves Tubby's Golden Lantern at 2pm going up Royal to St. Louis, turning right on St. Louis, right on N. Rampart, right on Toulouse, left on Burgundy, left on St. Peter, right on N. Rampart, stopping at St. Ann, then right on St. Ann, and left on Bourbon ending at Cafe Lafitte in Exile. Sixteen area businesses have underwritten the cost of the parade permit and fees for the police officers required for the parade. It will be led by Southern Decadence Grand Marshals XXXVI Toby Lefort and Julien Artressia from the balcony of Ambush headquarters at 828 Bourbon Street. Mr. Gay Pageant comes to Mecca Nightclub in Miami; September 12 event benefits the True Colors Fund

On, Sunday, September 12, 2010, Nightlife Maven, Michael Stanley and Celebrity Wrangler/Publicist Brian Long will host the Miami, Mr. Gay Pageant at Mecca (950 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33132) and the home to Miami’s first annual Miami Mr. Gay Pageant. VIP guests will enjoy a cocktail meet and greet from 10-11pm with all of the celebrity hosts and contestants. During this hour approximately 100 VIPs will enjoy an open bar After the VIP meet & greet, the event will open up to the general public (from 11pm). Guests will be entertained by the sounds of DJ Roxx and DJ George Figares. Mr. Gay Competition Nationals

The Noble Beast Foundation, in collaboration with organizers of the Mr. Gay Competition, are thrilled to announce that Philadelphia will serve as host city for the United States National Mr. Gay contest. Foundation President and Mr. Gay Founder, Don Spradlin, will collaborate with Bruce Yelk and Nightlifegay.com, Philadelphia’s premier LGBT event promotions company, to coordinate and execute this year’s Competition. A Little About
EDDIE CUMANA:

KULT Records is one of the most successful New York based underground Dance labels and is co-owned and operated by NuYorCuban groove prodigy, Eddie Cumana. With over 20 years of experience in the music business as a sound engineer, record label executive, song-writer and professional DJ and producer, Eddie's sound is thunderous, regressive and driving.

Today, Eddie keeps creating the hottest music that is being broadcast on radio mix shows, and is spinning internationally on dance floors under his name or other monikers like; Dynamix, Sonikflirt. Eddie is behind the co-writing and production of 2008's underground smash by LULA and ALAN T entitled "There Is Only One", which gained support from Danny Tenaglia and Erick Morillo to Danny Rampling – a cut hailed as the biggest Record of the Year by many.

Today, Eddie has hundreds of well-established releases to his name, having executed official remixes for top talent as Pink, Toni Braxton, Cindy Lauper, Natasha Bedingfield to mention just a few. He has also created original productions for artists such as Cissy Houston, The Sweet Inspirations, Lula, Alan T, Sweet Sensation, and more while spinning internationally and running the world-famed KULT Records label. Eddie has risen to the top through his hard work, passionate dedication and regenerating himself as an artist, producer, song-writer, DJ and a Top label executive.

A Little About
VTONE:

Born with a knack for music had received a drum set at the age of 10. This gift was the foundation that helped him flourish his musical ability within the years to come and help him find his true passion. Upon receiving his first DJ gear at the age of 15 he spent rigorous hours practicing over and over again until he felt ready to show what he was creating on his own. With his hard work and determination he then decided to pursue DJing more serious rather than just a hobby. At the age of 18 he landed his first gig at Bounce; a local Brooklyn nightclub. He took the crowd by surprise and from that night on it became his residency. His passion and love for the music has led him to develop a hunger to keep growing and growing not only as a DJ but as a resident DJ of New York City's mega club's.

His first New York gig was at club Flow the following year. From there on out he has never looked back and has been consistently booked week in week out playing a wide range of clubs and lounges in New York City which include, B-lo, Strata, Go, Exit, Roxy, Sound Factory, Spirit ,Taj, Duvet, Star Room, Remote Lounge, ,Avalon, Spider Club, UnderGround @ Deep, Pacha, Crobar, Roseland Ballroom, Harrahs AC and recently M2 Ultra Lounge. He has also become a resident DJ during the Winter Music Conference in Miami as well as playing during the Vegas holiday's. He recently began to undertake his production career, looking to mold and perfect this newly adapted craft before unveiling it to the masses once again, as he has in the past with the art of DJing.

A Little About
DANNY BUDDAH MORALES:

Buddahs first DJ residency was at the famed Palladium nightclub in New York. It was only a matter of time before Morales was rocking other hot spots in the city, such as The Red Zone, Tilt, Warsaw and Robots. Morales transition into a world-class DJ came when he was asked to produce a weekly radio show for Choice FM in London. The shows ratings exceeded any and all expectations and ran for five successful years. What followed for Buddah was a European following, and within months he was jetting around the globe, playing his Big New York Sound (a hypnotic mix of house, garage and regressive tribal beats) at such world renowned clubbing as Meccas, Hacienda, Ministry of Sound, Garage City and Groove Garden. To this day, Morales enjoys a robust touring schedule that takes him to Italy, Spain and the UK on a regular basis.

When not touring, Buddah stays busy traveling back and forth between San Francisco and New York, where he has studios. His list of production and remix credits has grown in the last few years with stellar records for artists including Kathy Sledge, Arnold Jarvis, Urban Cookie Collective and Michelle Weeks. His pet project, DM featuring Binxters Moody on KULT Records, became one of the most sought after tracks in Europe and was included on smash compilations from Danny Tenaglia to John Digweed.

DAVID MARTINEZ:

For those who don't know David Martinez he has made a big name for himself from Ibiza to his home town NYC with the infamous team of Naughty and his well known signature dirty sound of electro/tech house and delivering incredible nights to Sullivan Room, Pacha, love and other well known dedicated venues, David understands that fashion, music & glamor makes a powerful statement at any event so be sure to encounter a top notch vibe at any event he performs.

David brings a very unique vibe to any dance floor he encounters, very well know for interacting with the crowd especially the European one on an indescribable sexy way that's hard to describe by words, David makes his sets extra special by dropping his own unreleased jewels that make the night very special and full of surprises,currently working with huge erotic parties such as Skin @ Pacha and Naughty NYC be sure to expect a very sensual sound from his end, this new face will be making a huge impact in the NYC industry very fast so be sure to catch him at his best in this very special night!!

New "Give A Damn" campaign video focuses on discrimination of GLBT people in the workplace; features Whoopi Goldberg, Piper Perabo and Brad Goreski

The Give a Damn Campaign, a project of Cyndi Lauper's True Colors Fund, releases its latest video which highlights that, in more than half the states in this country, a person can be fired for being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. Whoopi Goldberg, Piper Perabo and Brad Goreski take part in this newest video in the campaign's ongoing monthly series.

Despite the strides that have been made in this country to try to ensure equal opportunities, equal treatment and equal pay for all, “all” doesn’t necessarily somebody who is gay or transgender. Only 21 states and the District of Columbia prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation. Of those, only 12 also protect employees from discrimination based on gender identity.

"Every day, people go to work afraid that they will lose their jobs because they are gay or transgender," said Gregory Lewis, Executive Director of the True Colors Fund. "This is unacceptable in any country, but especially in the United States of America. No one should ever have to face this fear. It is time for things to change. We urge everyone to share this video, especially with the straight people in their lives, to help educate them about this issue and encourage them to get involved in ending this form of discrimination."

The Summer Circuit is in full swing and the parties are happening everywhere you look. Our Pride events have become an integral part of the Circuit and JustCircuit will continue to follow these celebrations worldwide as part of our promise to bring you the very best coverage you deserve. We salute the hard work and effort put into Pride events by communities from neighborhoods large and small alike. We are no longer surprised to see supporters from the straight communities attending our events. Expressing our pride and merging our communities is a big part of the Circuit's very own evolution. JustCircuit will be there, always, to assist our communities in achieving the success they desire and deserve.

New events have surfaced which have served to add competition and variety to otherwise familiar Circuit destination weekends. Some of these new events will succeed yet some will fail. Hats off to those who recognize a reinventing Circuit by offering their own hands-on approach and for sharing their ideas and dreams in creating new events. As in any competitive market, only the most successful events will eventually succeed. Those not willing to realize the Circuit's evolution are stuck in the past and are destined to fail. They don't recognize the desires of today's community and they only offer what might have worked in the past.
